Your steady hand through labour and beyond
Birth isn’t something to “get through” alone. From the first surges to the first cry, The Mothership package keeps you held, supported, and never left wondering who’s in your corner.
Support that stays the whole way
This isn’t a one-off call or single visit. Birth support begins before labour, with time to prepare together, space to talk through your hopes and fears, and practical tools for the day itself. When it’s time, I’ll be there from start to finish, calm and steady, and afterwards I’ll stay close to help you find your feet in those tender first days.
Here’s what’s wrapped inside
Every birth looks different, but here’s how this package gives you consistent, compassionate care
before birth
Before labour begins, we’ll untangle worries, practise comfort techniques that actually feel doable, and sketch out a plan your partner can lean on, so when the first twinges start, you both know you’re not flying blind.
during birth
From 37 weeks, I’m on call, day or night and when it’s go-time, I’ll be right there. Think of me as the calm in the corner: steadying your breath, keeping the space grounded, and helping you make sense of choices as they come.
after birth
Once baby has landed, I don’t dash off. I’ll stick around to guide first feeds, hand you a drink and a snack, or quietly reset the space, all while reminding you to pause and take in the magic of what you’ve just done.
Because how you’re supported shapes how you remember it
Birth isn’t just one day on the calendar, it’s a story you’ll carry with you for the rest of your life.
The way you feel in those hours shapes how you remember them. Having someone steady by your side can ease the fear, keep the calm, and leave you looking back with pride and strength rather than overwhelm.
What’s Inside Birth & Doula Support
Think of this as your all-in-one birth package: preparation, steady presence on the big day, and care afterwards when the dust settles. From antenatal planning and on-call support, to hands-on reassurance during labour and gentle postnatal care, this is support that carries you all the way through.
Here’s how it unfolds:
Antenatal prep sessions – time to talk, plan, and make sure you and your partner feel calm, clear, and connected.
Birth planning & journaling – create your personalised birth plan and use guided journaling to reflect, prepare, and capture your journey.
24/7 on-call support – from 37 weeks, I’m always just a call away until your baby arrives.
Continuous birth support – comfort measures, emotional reassurance, advocacy, and a calm presence by your side through every surge.
Postnatal care sessions – two visits after birth to give you rest, feeding support, and space to adjust with steady guidance.
Birth reflection – a gentle session to process your experience, celebrate your story, and mark the start of this new chapter.
Support for both of you
Birth can feel just as big for partners, and they deserve to feel steady too. I’ll help them find their place in the room, give reassurance when things get intense, and make sure they feel part of the story rather than watching from the side lines.
With me there, they can breathe easier, lean into their role, and know their support matters just as much as yours..
kind words from families i’ve worked with...
Jen, I was mind-blown at how compassionate, caring and loving somebody can be. She is the type of woman I aspire to be. She is so graceful and wonderful in the way she carries herself, and I think she will be the most excellent space holder for those who need support. I believe she truly has the ability to change lives.
Want the moments captured too?
I offer birth photography as an optional extra, gentle, unobtrusive, and focused on the raw, real beauty of your experience.
No staged shots, just quiet moments: the look on your face when you first meet your baby, the steady hand holding yours, the love filling the room. Something to look back on and remember the strength, connection, and magic of that day. We’ll agree in advance what you’d like captured, and I only shoot when it feels right for you.
Wondering about the details?
Here are a few of the most common things families ask before booking birth support:
-
I’ll be with you for the whole journey, however long it takes. From the moment you call me in, I remain by your side until your baby is born. That might mean offering comfort measures, encouragement, and advocacy through every stage, or simply holding space so you feel calm and safe. There’s no clock-watching, no leaving when things stretch out, you’ll have continuous support for as long as you need it.
-
No. I don’t provide medical care or replace your midwife or doctor, I work alongside them. My role is to support you emotionally and physically, explain what’s happening in plain language, and help you feel confident in making decisions. Think of me as your steady anchor: someone to advocate for your wishes, offer comfort measures, and ensure you and your partner feel heard, while your healthcare team manages the medical side.
-
From 37 weeks of pregnancy until your baby arrives, I’m on call 24/7. That means you can reach me day or night, and I’ll be ready to join you when labour begins. You’ll never feel like you’re facing the unknown alone, you’ll always know there’s someone you trust, just a phone call away.
-
Birth rarely follows a script, so my support flexes with your journey. Whether your birth takes a different turn, you need to navigate interventions, or you decide on a caesarean, I’ll be right there helping you adjust, make informed choices, and feel calm and supported. Together we’ll focus on creating the most positive, empowering experience possible, whatever path it takes.
-
Yes. I support families in their chosen setting, whether that’s at home, in a birth centre, or in hospital. If circumstances shift (for example, you transfer from home to hospital), I come with you, ensuring continuity of care. You’ll always have a familiar face, steady presence, and calm voice beside you, wherever you birth your baby.
